Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCTs) are fats found naturally in both coconut and palm kernel oils, but NOW®Sport Organic MCTs are derived only from organic coconut oil. Medium chain triglycerides are digested more easily and quickly than other types of fats. They are easily absorbed from the digestive system and very quickly metabolized by the liver, where they are said to encourage the use of fat for energy rather than storage. Several studies suggest using MCTs instead of other fats in a healthy diet may help support a healthy weight and body composition.
